"Krasny Kotelshchik" Participates in Modernization of Permskaya TETs-9 (CHPP)

The Taganrog Boiler-Making Works "Krasny Kotelshchik" (TKZ) started designing the Steam Boiler for Permskaya TETs-9. Upgrade of equipment of the largest in terms of heat output power plant of the Perm Branch of PJSC T Plus is provided in the framework of the state programm of modernization of thermal power plants under the power delivery contracts (DPM-shtrikh).

Permskaya TETs-9 is an important power plant of the Russian energy system; it is one of the main sources of heat for the left-shore part of the city of Perm and it accounts for the uninterruptable power supply for the local oil refinery plant operations. To increase the output of the much needed by the consumers CHPP, as well as to increase the efficiency thereof it was decided to modernize the equipment which had completed its service life.

In place of 480 t/h boiler PJSC "Krasny Kotelshchik" will supply the 540 t/h Boiler Unit complete with the boiler auxiliary equipment. It is planned to complete the above works in the 3rd Quarter 2021. TKZ specialists will also render erection and adjustment supervision services for the new boiler, will participate in the boiler tests and carry out training of the plant operational personnel.

Boiler unit will be installed in the limited in its overall dimensions existing boiler cell of the CHPP and this is one of the project peculiarities. The modern environmental requirements will be met with the minimum possible number of the draught equipment; provision is made in the design for the pressurized operational scheme, also without a flue gas recirculation ID fan.

Further to the automated control system there will be designed and installed a predictive system of the physical condition of the boiler heating surfaces for the first time in TKZ's experience. This system is designed to inform the plant personnel ahead of time of the completion of service life of this or that component and to promptly inform of any critical deviations in operation of the equipment influencing its life time.

Strict requirements have been set for the TKZ's equipment economical operation: efficiency of the oil and gas boiler is to exceed 94%. Separate attention is paid to the reliable operation of the boiler unit under the increased seismic load conditions being magnitude 7 to MSK scale (which is the earthquake intensity scale used in Russia).
